Six d.o.g.s records’ latest release marks the return of one of Greece’s best alternative indie rock bands.
Waves is Zebra Tracks newest venture into the recording world and it’s undoubtebly their best work yet. In their tenth year as a band they go far beyond indie rock conventions setting up a solid rhythm section, that is one part staccato, one part pop. Both blend together creating an impressively groovy result.
A post-punk album you can dance to, filled with future sing-alongs as well as a smooth ensemble of ten successive singles, “Waves” is available to download on February 9th from six d.o.g.s records Markos’ series. Find it at six d.o.g.s records’ e-shop (http://shop.sixdogs.gr/) and Bandcamp (http://sixdogsrecords.bandcamp.com) as well as 200 more digital outlets such as iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, Music Google Play and Deezer.
They named themselves after the worst Young Marble Giants’ song. There are four of them and they like blending post punk with shoegaze. Their debut double single Silicone Valley/Borealis Fallacia was released by BuySomeRecords in 2006. Their first EP came out a year later and in 2009 followed their debut album “A Family Picture From…” with the support of Sonic Playground. During the next three years the Zebras toured Greece and the rest of Europe, appearing next to artists such as Placebo, Faith No More, Unkle, Yeasayer, Kaiser Chiefs, A Place To Bury Strangers, The Levellers, The Subways, Long Blondes, No Age, Good Shoes, Television Personalities and The Chap. In the fall of 2011 they released two singles, ‘Isabelle Creeps’ and ‘Bicycles’. Their next LP “Collective Guilt” was released in summer 2012 by independent Limited Fanfare (Miami, FL) and UNDO and was a favourite among fans and music bloggers. Waves will be their third full album.
